I remember the days when I would travel for work. Leaving home on a cold Monday morning and returning on a dark Friday afternoon wasn't fun but was all part of the job that had to be done.
Back then, I sold early computers. Our most basic visible record card computer sold for around £8,000 (£25,000 today). It had no screen or hard disk, but used cards with magnetic stripes on the side to hold the data, and printed what would be displayed on the screen today, on the card. It was a different world back then.
Anyway, I'd often have to stay away from home for days on end in some average hotel miles from anywhere, wishing it was Friday and I was back at home.
Today it doesn't have to be like that. Our townhouse right in the centre of Norwich offers a home from home for business people in the area. They enjoy the whole house to themselves, with all the conveniences of home, somewhere to base themselves and meet colleagues or clients, and somewhere to call their own in the evenings while they Facetime™ or Skype™ their family or watch their favourite Netflix™ movies from the sofa in peace and quiet.
